Sometimes at the beginning of class, one of my co-teachers will ask the students, "How's the weather?" Then they say, "It's sunny/cloudy/hot/cold/rainy/etc." It's so rehearsed.
I feel like all I ever do on this blog is talk about the weather because my life is pretty average. Anyway, the weather has been amazing for the past 2 weeks! (minus slight showers this morning) It's been in the 70's/80's with the perfect amount of breeze and sunny lately! I actually turned on the AC yesterday because my house was a balmy 29 degrees Celsius. However, it's too early to start complaining about the hot weather. For now, I'm just enjoying walking outside in the morning without a winter coat and wearing skirts without tights.
On Tuesday this week, it was Korean Labor Day. It's not a national holiday so none of my friends had off work (unless they teach middle/high school and their students had midterms). Luckily, for whatever reason, my school gave us the day off. I'm not sure if it was for actual Labor Day or if it was our school's "birthday" or whatever, but it doesn't matter because I didn't have to go!
I had a leisurely morning of skyping with a friend in America and making doenjang jjigae for breakfast. Then I made my way to the US Embassy for my appointment at 1:30pm to add pages to my passport. Despite having an appointment time, I still had to wait 30-40 minutes for my turn (which took about a total of 2 minutes). I should have my passport back +48 new pages in the next week! Then I spent the afternoon hanging out near Gwanghwamun Square and Cheongyecheon, enjoying the weather, before heading to Craftworks for happy hour! It was a nice little day off in the middle of the week.
